We often associate reaching the pinnacle of success with a certain level of swagger. The image of the boastful CEO, radiating self-importance, is a common trope. But in reality, true expertise, the kind that builds lasting credibility, is often accompanied by something quite different: humility.

And, that's what you'll observe in the video.  My interview with two traditional Aikido exponents, both having been awarded 7th dan status, is a lesson in leading, learning and humility.  

Think about the most respected figures in your field. Are they constantly reminding you of their achievements? Or are they more likely to be engaged in thoughtful discussions, asking questions, and demonstrating a genuine curiosity?

The truth is, those who reach the top and maintain their credibility understand a fundamental principle: learning never stops. They recognise that their knowledge, however vast, is just a piece of a much larger puzzle. This understanding fosters a sense of humility, a recognition that there's always more to learn and that others have valuable insights to contribute.
